MALKHASYAN IRINA EDUARD (born in 1954, in Yerevan), anesthesiologist, doctor of medical sciences, professor. She heads the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at YSMU after Mr. Heratsi since 2011, she is at the same time head of the Clinic of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the hospital complex N 1 "Heratsi", scientific secretary of the professional council 027 "Surgery" since 2012.

In 1971, she finished high school Yerevan N 35 (gold medal), in 1978 the faculty of medicine of YSMU after Mr. Heratsi, in 1979 internship in specialty cardiology (hospital № 1 emergency relief). In 1986, she completed her clinical residency, in specialty anesthesiology and resuscitation (Scientific Center of Surgery of the all-Union of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, Moscow).

From 1979 to 1983 she was a doctor-cardiologist at the Masis Regional Hospital.

From 1994 to 1995 she received a doctorate in Anesthesiology and resuscitation (at the HENRI MONDOR Medical Center in Paris).

From 1983 to 1984, a physician-resuscitator at the Yerevan branch of the Scientific Center for Surgery of the all-Union of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, from 1984 to 1986 she was a clinical trainee in the specialty Anesthesiology and Resuscitation in the same center.

Since 1986, she has worked as anesthesiologist-resuscitator in the resuscitation and anesthesiology department of the "Erebuni" medical center.

From 1990 to 2001 she was a senior physician in the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation of the same Medical Center and, from 2002 to 2007, Head of the Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Department of Yerevan Medical Unit № 2.

From 1998 to 2006, she was an assistant in the Department of Anesthesiology, Rheumatology and Intensive Therapy of YSMU after Mr. Heratsi, from 2006 to 2009, professor of the same department.

From 2007 to 2011 she was Head of the Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Department at the Armenian Trauma and Orthopedic Science Center.

In 1997 she defended her thesis on the topic "Application of artificial assisted ventilation methods during adult respiratory distress syndrome" and received a doctorate in medical sciences.

In 2004 she defended her thesis on the subject "Application of auxiliary ventilation methods in the treatment of acute respiratory insufficiency of various origins" and received the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences.

She has participated in a series of professional training both in Armenia and abroad.

She is a member of various scientific councils both in Armenia and abroad.

The author of 140 scientific publications and 5 monographs in the field of anesthesiology, resuscitation and respiratory therapy.

She was awarded the gold medal “HENRI MONDOR” for achievements in the field of intensive care, was awarded (1995, Paris, France), the State Award - the medal “Mkhitar Heratsi” for achievements in the field of health and teaching (2015).
